Here you will find the most frequently asked questions from people who have just booked with us, further down you will find our different rates and cancellation conditions.
Arrival:
Your room will be ready for check-in from 2:00 PM on the day of arrival.
We offer various packages where your room is made up in advance and ready when you arrive.
With these, it is also possible to arrive earlier or check out later the next day.
Self Check-in:
Upon arrival, a note will be placed at the main entrance with the name used for the booking.
This note contains all the information you need to collect your key and access the building.
Flinten Horsens operates with self-check-in, which means there is generally no staffed reception upon arrival.
However, our staff is always present on the property and can be contacted if needed.
When you arrive, you will find a welcome note with your name on it.
The name shown will be the person who made the booking.
The note provides all the necessary information on how to collect your key, enter the building, and find your room.
It also contains other practical information about the property.
Your key will be ready in the key box located at the main entrance.
The key gives access to both the main door and your room. Keys are provided according to the number of adult guests in the booking.
Please always keep your key with you!
Your room door locks automatically when you leave, and without your key, you will not be able to get back in.
How do we enter the building?
Next to the key box, you will find a black keypad.
To open the main door, place your room key in the center of the number 5 on the keypad.
Is the main door always locked?
Yes, the main door is locked for security reasons, but you can enter and exit freely using your room key.
Check-out time is 10:00 AM unless otherwise agreed.
It is a great help if guests remove their bed linen and place it in the blue linen bags in the hallway. This is not required, but it is much appreciated.
All room keys received at check-in should be placed in the key basket at the reception desk.
It is possible to purchase a late check-out – see more under “Packages”.
At Flinten Horsens, we offer a range of packages and add-ons to make your stay more comfortable.
Have your beds made before arrival, check in earlier, or check out later – and enjoy a quick grab-and-go breakfast.
For special occasions, you can also order a bottle of red or white wine delivered directly to your room.
All add-ons must be ordered no later than 10:00 AM the day before arrival.
Cancellation & Changes
Cancellations must always be made in writing via our email: info@flintenhorsens.dk
Free Cancellation
We now offer free cancellation for all bookings up to 2 hours after the booking is made.
BestPrice – Non-Flexible
Our BestPrice rate can be cancelled up to 2 hours after booking. After that, the booking becomes non-refundable. If you booked this rate, we will not be able to issue a refund or move your stay to another date.
BasicPrice – Semi-Flexible
Cancellations can be made up to 7 days before arrival. If cancelled on time, the full amount is refunded, minus a DKK 150.00 administration fee per room.
For cancellations made less than 7 days before arrival, the full amount is charged.
This rate can be moved to another date, subject to availability and potential price difference.
Worry-Free Price – Flexible
This rate can be cancelled until 10:00 AM on the day of arrival.
If cancelled on time, the full amount is refunded, minus a DKK 150.00 administration fee per room.
At Flinten Horsens we have created the framework for a relaxing stay in the middle of a beautiful nature reserve.
Here you can enjoy the tranquility, while we offer modern facilities for both relaxation and activity.
At Danhostel Horsens, all guests have access to a fully equipped guest kitchen, where you can prepare your own meals – whether it's breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a good cup of coffee.
The kitchen includes stovetops, ovens, a microwave, a coffee machine, and an electric kettle, as well as tableware and cookware for preparing and serving meals.
There are also dining tables and chairs, so you can enjoy your meals in a cozy atmosphere. Each room has a labeled fridge box, making it easy to keep track of your own groceries.
From the kitchen, there is access to an outdoor terrace where you can enjoy both your food and the sunshine.
Please note that food may not be brought into the rooms, and the kitchen is self-service – so please clean up after yourself to keep it pleasant for everyone.
The room is located in the basement and is equipped with a pool table, air hockey, a toy kitchen, a LEGO table, and boxes of building bricks.
You will also find reading material for both kids and adults, which you are welcome to take back to your room.
The fireplace lounge is located next to the reception. Here, you can relax in one of the cozy sofa areas after a long day.
You’re welcome to enjoy a handball match on the TV or borrow a book from the bookshelf.
In the reception area, you'll find a well-stocked vending machine with treats to satisfy your sweet cravings.
Please note: The machine only accepts coins.
We offer free 1000 Mbit WiFi.
The code can be found on the noticeboard by the reception and in the rooms.
Overnight guests at Danhostel Horsens can park for free.
Please note: One parking space is available per room.
There is a locked bike shed where bicycles can be securely stored. Access is only available with your room key.
Bicycles are not allowed inside the rooms.
We recommend shopping before you arrive, as the road from the shops is uphill and can be challenging after a long ride.
Important information about your stay
You can order either 1 breakfast roll or 2 breakfast rolls in our online booking or by email: info@flintenhorsens.dk.
These must be ordered no later than 10:00 AM the day before.
On dates with larger events, we may offer a full breakfast buffet instead. This cannot be booked online and depends on a high volume of guests. If you have ordered breakfast rolls or a breakfast plate and we are serving buffet, you will be offered an upgrade.
Each bed used must be made with the provided linen.
Bed linen is included in the price.
It will be placed in a bag in your room before arrival.
The package includes: 1 pillowcase, 1 duvet cover, 1 fitted sheet, and 1 towel.
Flinten is beautifully located with views over a nature reserve. Naturally, this also means the presence of insects. We recommend that you close your windows and turn off the lights when leaving your room.
We also suggest bringing a fan for warmer nights, as the building was constructed before air conditioning became common in Denmark.
Pets are not allowed at Danhostel Horsens.
Forgotten items will be stored for 14 days after departure. After that, we cannot guarantee further storage. Items can be shipped to you for a fee of DKK 350, which covers packing, handling, and shipping costs.
Please remember: It is your responsibility to notify us of any forgotten items and to provide your full name and address for shipment.
Don’t forget to check your room thoroughly before departure!
We do not have electric vehicle chargers directly on the property. However, charging stations are available within 1 km of Flinten Horsens.
Smoking or vaping is not allowed in rooms, out of the windows, or in any common areas at Flinten Horsens.
If smoking or vaping is detected, a fine of DKK 2.500,00 will be applied.
Guests with a residential address in Horsens may not book accommodation at Flinten Horsens without prior agreement.
We also reserve the right to refuse any guest at any time. In special cases, we may require valid photo ID and a deposit of up to DKK 2.000,00 upon arrival.

About 800 meters from Flinten Horsens, you’ll find the large water park AQUA FORUM Horsens.
This aquatic center offers hours of fun, wellness, exercise, and swimming for all ages. With various pools and activities, Aqua Forum is the perfect destination for every water enthusiast.

Important tip: Always read the parking signs carefully when parking in Horsens city center – we have nearly more parking attendants than residents!

Many of our guests take advantage of the guest kitchen and prepare their own meals.
There are several grocery stores within 1.5 km of the hostel, including 365 and Rema1000. If you drive just 2.5 km, you’ll also find a large Bilka.
Note: Especially for cyclists, we recommend shopping before arriving at the hostel. We’re located at the bottom of a steep hill, and it’s a tough ride back up after a long day of biking.
